Revitalizing Carrot Juice

Juices are one of those things that everyone loves. Babies, from an early age seem to love the sweet taste of fruit juices, such as apple and grape. As we grow up, we are given juices almost on a daily basis, sometimes even replacing sodas with “healthier” options such as bottled juices. However, one detail that always seems to be overlooked is the fact that bottled juices or any juice from a concentrate is actually not healthy at all for 2 reasons:

  1. Extra sugar and “vitamins” have been added to enhance the flavors, and to avoid having to use too many “vegetables or fruit”. Notice how sometimes you see a bottled juice drink with a label that reads “2% juice”? If only 2% of the bottle is actual juice, WHAT IS THE REST OF THE BOTTLE? You guessed it. Water and sugar. 
  2. Juices from concentrate have been heated at high temperatures to make sure it is preserved for as long as possible. This process of “pasteurization” essentially kills all of the good enzymes in the juice, leaving you with no nutrients.

So what’s the best option? HOMEMADE JUICES. Nothing beats real, freshly squeezed juice loaded with vitamins and nutrients. 
Make sure that you drink your juice as soon as possible after making it to avoid losing its nutrients, or live enzymes. 

Juicing doesn’t have to be expensive. I have a simple juicer I got from Amazon for less than $50 and it works great! It’s easy and quick to clean and I love the fact that you barely even need to cut produce in order for it to fit in the juicer mouth.

Ingredients
  1. 3 carrots
  2. 3 medium apples
  3. a small piece of ginger (to taste). The more ginger you add, the spicier your juice will be
Instructions
  1. Wash your produce and cut it up to fit in juicer mouth
  2. Peel the apples and carrots (optional)
  3. Put everything in the juicer!
Notes
  1. You can drink this juice in the morning 30 minutes before eating breakfast and it will dramatically help your digestion and will lessen any inflammation in your body since it will have ginger in it.
