One of my favorite foods ever has always been Chicken Alfredo. Since I stopped eating chicken and dairy altogether, I now find myself searching for and modifying recipes to be able to replace a meal that would usually be very high in fat, for one that is much more nutritious. This recipe contains nutritional yeast, which is a food that gives a cheesy flavor to the foods to which it is added. Scroll down to see the Alfredo sauce recipe!
Vegan Alfredo Sauce

Serves 4
Eat your favorite pasta with this delicious Alfredo sauce!
Ingredients
- ⅛ tsp garlic powder
- ⅛ tsp onion powder
- 12 ounces tofu, extra firm
- 1 cup nondairy milk
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ⅛ tsp salt
- a dash of black pepper
- a dash of cayenne pepper
- ½ cup nutritional yeast
- Handful of sliced mushrooms and/or broccoli (optional)
Instructions
- Combine tofu, plant-based milk, garlic and onion powders, nutmeg, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a food processor/blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer to a saucepan and whisk in nutritional yeast.
- Add mushrooms/broccoli.
- Heat sauce over slow/medium heat and allow it to thicken.
- Taste, adjusting seasonings.
- Serve with your favorite pasta!
